The i-12 Interstate 12 Highway travels generally in a east-west direction
entirely within the state of Louisiana.The i-12 acts as a defacto by-pass to
the i-10 where it travels thru the metro New
Orleans area.
The city of Baton Rogue LA is located at it's west-end where the i-12 meets the
i-10... and the city of
Slidell LA is located at it's
east-end where the i-12 meets the i-10 and
i-59.
The major interstate highways that intersect the i-12 include the;
i-10, i-55,
and i-59.
The i-12 generally parallels the older US 190 corridor and generally
traverses the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in the south-eastern portion of
Louisiana.
The i-12 covers a relatively short distance of only 85.6 miles ... which can
be travelled in just aprox. 1.47 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed of 60
miles-per-hour.
