The i-44 is an Interstate Highway that travels thru the central US in generally in a northeast-southwest
direction thru 3 US states, those states being; Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The i-44 is one of several interstates that were built to bypass the old US
Route 66; this highway covers the section between Oklahoma City and St. Louis...
a large portion of i-44 east of Springfield is the old Route 66.
The city of St. Louis MO is located at it's northeast end ... and the city of
Wichita Falls TX is located at it's southwest end.
The major interstate highways that intersect the i-44 include the;
i-35, i-40,
i-49, i-55,
i-64, and i-70.
The i-44 covers a distance of aprox. 634 miles ... which can
be travelled in aprox. 10.6 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed averaging 60
miles-per-hour.
