The i-76 is a multi-section Interstate Highway that travels generally in a
east-west direction thru 5 US states, those states being; Colorado, Nebraska,
New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.The i-76 is a multi-section highway (not a
contiguous highway) ... the eastern section of the i-76 is located within the 3
states of Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania ... and the western section
of the i-76 is located in the 2 states of Colorado and Nebraska ... the map
above on this page only shows the eastern section of the i-76 that runs thru
Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
An eastern section of the i-76 located within the state of Pennsylvania is
also known as the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The city of Philadelphia PA is located at it's east end ... and the city of
Denver CO is located at it's west end.
The major interstate highways that intersect the i-76 include the;
i-25, i-70,
i-71, i-77,
i-79, i-80,
i-81, i-83,
i-95, and i-99.
The i-76 covers a total distance of aprox. 623 miles (both sections) ... the
eastern section that runs thru Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania is aprox. 435
miles long and can be travelled in aprox. 7.2 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed averaging 60
miles-per-hour ... while the western section that runs thru Colorado and
Nebraska is aprox. 188 miles long and can be travelled in aprox. 3.2 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed averaging 60
miles-per-hour.
