The i-84 is a multi-section Interstate Highway that travels generally in a
east-west direction thru 7 US states, those states being; Connecticut, Idaho,
Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Utah.The i-84 is a
multi-section highway (not a contiguous highway) ... the eastern section of the
i-84 runs thru the 4 states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and
Pennsylvania ... the western section of the i-84 runs thru the 3 states of
Idaho, Oregon, and Utah.
The city of Sturbridge MA is
located at it's east end ... and the city of
Portland OR is located at it's west end.
The major interstate highways that intersect the i-84 include the;
i-5, i-15,
i-80, i-81,
i-82, i-86,
i-87, i-90,
and i-91.
The i-84 covers a total combined of distance of aprox. 1,002 miles (both sections) ...
while the
eastern section of the i-84 that runs thru CT, MA, NY, and PA is aprox. 232
miles long and can be travelled in aprox. 3.9 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed averaging 60
miles-per-hour ... while the western section of the i-84 that runs thru ID, OR,
and UT is aprox. 770 miles long and can be travelled in aprox. 12.8 hrs. with a sustained travelling speed averaging 60
miles-per-hour.
